I am a dedicated and diligent 18-year-old student from Malaysia who has managed to secure a place at a private college in the UK (Kings London) for my A-Levels. I am currently studying Economics, Geography and Politics. I am keen on studying Law at university.

My student ID Card at Kings London.

My acceptance letter from Kings.

With my hard work and excellent results, I was given a 50% scholarship from the college (which is the highest scholarship they offer). However, with the current exchange rate, the fees are way too high and challenging for my widowed mother to afford.

I was 7 years old when my dad passed away and I watched my mum work tirelessly to put food on the table and a roof over my head. I can’t even begin to comprehend the hardship she goes through to ensure I excel in everything I do.

Since I was a young girl, I was determined to strive for a better future for myself and my mother. I would like to make my mother proud, ensure her sacrifices have not been in vain and to serve society someday.

My mother and I.

I have worked very hard to get to where I am today. In secondary school, I held many leadership positions and was even the top of my class. I knew as a teenager, that I had to work hard to gain scholarships because university/college fees are very high, and I did not want to burden my mother with them.

Proud moment – Receiving the highest achiever award.

Receiving my certificate for the Nottingham Economics Essay Competition.

With your kindness and generosity, you will help me complete my education.  I am just a young lady from a small country striving to achieve her dreams. As Kathy Calvin, the CEO of the United Nations Foundation said, ‘ giving is not just about making a donation, it is about making a difference‘. Giving to my fund will certainly make a huge difference in my life. Thank you.
