About Covid19
Why help our Frontliners?
Our Hospital Frontliners (Doctors & Nurses), regardless of which hospitals they represent, works around the clock and on-call basis. They are indirectly exposed to Covid19 patients on a daily basis too. Number of infected persons will inevitably increases on day to day.
In order to tend and treat patients that are affected with Covid19, they are vulnerable to getting infected if they do not wear the required protective gears. These frontliners are our friends and family that risks their lives to fulfill their duties to treat and to serve. And it is the right thing to do to help them get the help they need.
What do they need?
Through conversations with Medical Team friends from the Hospitals in Sabah, the most urgent & required items are as follows. However, the followings are not the final supplies that they may need:
-
- PPE (Isolation Gown)
- N95 Mask/3 Ply Mask
- Shoes/Boot Cover
- Face Shields
- Hand Sanitizers
Since the above are disposables, they need these supplies in HUGE quantities. Each day, they needed to use at least 300 – 600 pieces of disposables (as listed above) to protect themselves.
With the raised funds, we hope to be able to supply to the Hospitals in Sabah, by sending the supplies to Queen Elizabeth Hospital first as they are the main receiving hub for supplies before coordinating and distributing these supplies to other hospitals within the states accordingly.
At the moment, as you are reading this, it is known that the Hospitals in Sabah are often running out of supplies, not only due to stocks availability but also delayed due to logistic arrangements for these supplies to reach them.
How you can help?
Your donations is IMPORTANT to us as we represent these frontliners in this appeal to get the supplies they need whenever they call for it.
PPE items will be sent to the main receiving hub in Sabah (Queen Elizabeth Hospital).
We also welcome to work with suppliers directly if they are able to provide the supplies and to deliver directly to the Hospital at fraction the cost. The funds raised is not only to purchase the above mentioned items at bulk rate but also to cover the logistics fees to deliver the item.
Our Hope
From as little as RM20, every donations counts. We would be grateful if you can help us to spread this campaign around too.
In view of the fact that Covid19 will not go away so soon, we have decided to continue to reactivate this initiative until March 2021.
You may contact us at hello@hanafundme.com if you need more info about this campaign.

Latest Update
Hello Everyone!
We have been receiving emails to enquire about KKM status and if our campaign is legit or otherwise as there are many individuals out there running their own initiatives for different hospitals.
And we are not privy to the KKM/JKN updates on supplies to all hospitals in Malaysia. But we assure you that we are working closely with the Tawau Hospital\\\\\\\\\\\’s representative in getting public support in purchasing the much needed protective gears for the frontliners as they are running low. We are working closely with our KL\\\\\\\\\\\’s counterpart, the OpsHarapan team in getting the supplies sent over to the hospital.
Perhaps the relevant authorities have done their part to supply – but not enough. So we wouldnt know.
Nevertheless, we wish to thank everyone again for the donations thus far and please help us to share/spread the campaign around.

FAQ
Here is a compilation of the common questions we get in regards to our fundraising campaign:
1. Why are you doing this? Government just announced that they will allocate funds for the hospitals.
True they just announced. But doesn’t mean the hospitals will get them immediately. Think about the production and logistics too. Government also need to dig deep into their limited reserves. If we all can chip in collectively – why not?
2. It’s not about the money, the hospitals have monies – there are shortages of supplies now. Even if you have the money, you can’t buy the supplies.
Not ALL the hospitals have the money – especially the public hospitals. And true there are shortages of supplies. Why? Because suppliers need to buy raw materials and they need to pay their factory workers to produce them too. If no upfront payments to purchase or order the supplies – why would they send them to you? The least we could do is put our order first, let them produce and then monitor the estimated time for the logistics to do their deliveries & reach the intended parties.
3. Why Tawau Hospital? Why not KK Hospital or other Hospitals in KL?
We chose Tawau Hospital as they are the 3rd highest in terms of treating the affected COVID19 patient with already one death. We are also aware that they are other groups raising funds/help to other hospitals in KK or KL. As mentioned in our campaign earlier – spillover of supplies will also be channel to other hospitals that needs it.
4. Do you work closely with Hospitals on this?
Public Hospitals are not supposed to appeal for any fundraising as it is against their policies. Hence as a caring public, we wish to help alleviate their challenges in any ways we can.
5. Can we send items to Hospitals directly?
Yes you can if you have their contacts personally. Please note that whatever you are sending it has to be verified by the hospital first to find out if it’s acceptable by them. Not all items are acceptable due to qualities and material.
6. Are you a scam? There are so many scammers out there today.
If you feel uncomfortable to help then don’t force yourself. For a merely RM10 donation – there is nothing much to scam there.
7. Does your platform gets a cut?
Yes, just like any other crowdfunding platforms (most crowdfunding pages are non profits, unless otherwise stated). And Platform fees varies. Nevertheless, we do NOT charge any upfront fees. However, to maintain our platform, we do charge a small service fee on total donations collected by the campaign itself. Eventually, our team will give something back too personally from our pockets.
8. Where do you get your supplies?
We are working closely with our friends from the OpsHarapan team as they have sourced most of items (before the MCO in Malaysia) to be sent to Wuhan. We do not take from unverified suppliers – only the ones they worked with before.
9. What is the minimum to donate?
Minimum amount is RM10 only. This is a reasonably acceptable amount to start with.
10. Why raise up to that much?
Honestly, don\\\\\\\\\\\’t look at the amount first. Look at the number of disposables needed by our frontliners. That\\\\\\\\\\\’s 300 – 600 a day. So imagine if you have 1,000 disposables, they can only last the frontliners 2-3 days max. And these disposables, they may or may not be cheap to produce so we are just preparing for the worst with the extras. Furthermore, whatever spillover we have – the supplies will go to other hospitals that is in need. Will we be able to raise that much? Perhaps. But we will try our best.
11. Do we get a receipt?
Yes you will get a receipt everytime you donate through this platform. Regardless whether you pay by transfer or credit card or paypal.
12. Can we trust you?
Frankly, it is up to you. We do not force nor have the time to justify why you must trust. When we stop collecting funds (whether meet the target or not) we will still fulfill our task to deliver to the hospital. If you wish to work with the Hospital directly, you may do so at your own accord.

2020-03-24
We have reduced the Target Amount from RM500k to RM50k.
In view of the Government recent announcement that the Public can donate to MOH account directly, we support this action wholeheartedly. Hence we are reducing the amount to raise since we take it with good faith that MOH will look into funding all the hospitals needs soon.
-
2020-03-25
We will be closing the Campaign when we reach the target.
After discussing internally, we have decided to further reduce the Target funding amount from the original target of RM500k to RM100k and now RM50k since the Government has already announced RM500mil allocation for Hospital needs on 23 March 2020. Not to mention Corporates and GLCs that comes forward with huge donations.
We are grateful for the development and we believe things will be alright from here onwards.
Nevertheless, we will continue to fundraise for any emergency need that may arise while waiting for the supplies to arrive. So let\\\\\\\\\\\’s push the last hurdle and complete the task shall we?
Nevertheless we wish to thank everyone that helps in this fundraising effort. Without each of you, we will never be able to push the authorities to act on the situation or deliver the help that the hospital need.
Thank you again and God bless!

We are not halfway there yet.
Hello everyone, we still need RM35,755 to complete this this mission. Although we understand that RM50K may not be enough to provide all the supplies required, we hope to at least provide the Hospitals with the back-up supplies needed just in case the intended supplies from Govt did not come on time (had happened before). Previous supplies is already on its way to the hospitals. If you have spare change to support, we would be really grateful. Thank you!

Lets PUSH this shall we?
We are looking to achieve at least RM25k this week and we have less than a month to achieve the target of RM50k. Understand that time is hard for everyone these days but do chip in any amount you can afford. Our pledge starts from as low as RM10 and we also have people chipping in odd amount. If we have 1000 chip in RM100, we would definitely be way achieving the target and more hospitals will get extra supplies. Since there is no vaccine for Covid19 yet, all our Frontliners can do is to follow control protocol and provide treatments as per symptoms basis, and we need to protect them too against the risk of getting infected as they deal with the patients on daily basis. Protection gears and daily sanitization is all they have to keep safe. Help us keep up the consistent support for them. Thank you!

Covid19 will Not Go AWAY so soon
In view of the situation of the pandemic, until vaccination is found, we feel obligated to continue the initiative until end of this year, 2020 to ensure that our Hospital is equipped with the much needed supplies. We hope you will continue to support us by sharing this campaign.

Reactivation of Campaign
We reactivated this campaign to accommodate to the spike in Sabah. The state is still one of the Top 5 and funds is very much needed to support the frontliners. To date we have delivered more than 30 cartons of PPE, about 10 boxes of hygiene products for frontliners and cleaning equipments for the Covid19 quarantine hub in Kota Belud.
